Today Patrick brought me breakfast in bed, and we laid on the couch having a "Sweatpants Sunday" until I decided we had been lazy enough. Thankfully, we had a nice break from the rain and snow. We decided to go see the WWII memorial that is a couple streets down from our apartment. It was a nice hike up the mountain, but the view from the top was amazing. After the city was bombed, they piled remains of houses and building on top of a mountain, making it 40 meters higher above sea level. Here are some of the pictures:
After we left, we decided to go to Tübingen to go see the Hoehentübingen castle. The drive itself was gorgeous. I fell in love with Tübingen. It is exactly what you picture when you think of a cute, really old town. The hike up to the castle was a pretty big one... I learned just how out of shape I really am. Well worth it though :).
Thankfully, the rain waited until we were in the car. It was a short drive back to our apartment. We made dinner, I absolutely failed at making vanilla pudding (I guess that's what happens when you trust a boy to translate the directions) and now we are watching the football game :) gotta love ESPN America.
Hopefully this week we can get our closet put together. Other than that everything seems to be done. I need to get my learn German CD going this week. Other than that we are planning some great adventures for next month, Cologne and Switzerland :).
