what has happened in the last week...

I have learned new things about my future husband. Before I get to that, let me first explain something. My sister likes to call me a weasel. Not because I look like one or anything, but any time I go to visit my parents, I tend to weasel free stuff (make-up I know my mom will never use, etc.) out of them. I think it just comes with the whole broke college kid thing, and sometimes my sister is worse than me. However, Patrick takes the cake on this one. For example, we needed pasta sauce, rather than go to the store...  he goes to his parents house. Do we walk out with just pasta sauce??? No way! We leave with soda, pudding mix, some nasty looking tuna thing, and pasta sauce. One night we were over there for dinner, did we just leave with leftovers??? Nope! We got a bottle of champagne too. Not that I mind, I just find it pretty funny.

Patrick's mother has cooked us dinner like 3-4 times in the past couple weeks. Both my soon to be mother-in-law and my mother are such awesome cooks... I really need to get on that. To my defense, I don't really trust Patrick to translate the directions after the pudding incident, and it would take me an hour just to type it all into google translator.

I am hoping to start my German classes next month. I have to go for an interview so they can determine which level I need to be put in. I am betting I wind up in a class with five year olds, and even they will know more German than I do. On a better note, at least I will be able to drive myself there! My smart car will be all mine tomorrow. We had a fun adventure going to the German equivalent of the DMV today. Let me just say this, German people have their shit together. It not only took less than an hour, but you get your license plates there! You go to the office next door while you are waiting for them to process your paper work and BAM! they make your license plates right in front of you.

On the apartment front, we finally got our closet put together, which was absolute hell. The bathroom door will be put up tomorrow, so now when I step out of the shower, I wont have to see the kitchen. Speaking of kitchen, that is still not finished. We are getting creative and making it work :).

Funny story to finish this one off with. So everyone knows about David Hasselhoff, and how he is German and blah blah blah. So I recently found out that he was born in America. Patrick was all excited, he was saying see I told you he wasn't really German... I don't see why people think he is from Germany, he is dumb, etc. We were packing up some more of his stuff at his parents house and he has an old stereo with a cassette player in it and which cassette is currently in there? David Hasselhoff... so much for his argument! He swears that it wasn't his... but I don't know if I believe that one.

It has been a pretty boring week, so that is about it. Now that I have a car, hopefully I will have more to share soon.
